St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Daily Arrest Report

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 72 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 111 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Jordan R. Gant, 23, 200 Cleveland Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on March 1, 2013 at 9:08 pm for possession of marijuana and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana. A deputy responded to a complaint of a fight at the Plantation Inn in Bayou Vista, LA. During the course of the investigation, the deputy made contact with a subject identified as Gant and learned of the warrant for his arrest. Gant was also found to be in possession of marijuana. Gant was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Caston Malveaux, 56, 106 Southeast Blvd. Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on March 1, 2013 at 11:14 pm for failure to stop at a stop sign and possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed a vehicle make an incomplete stop at a stop sign at the intersection of James Street and Hwy. 182. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver identified as Malveaux. While speaking with Malveaux the deputy observed an open bottle of vodka in the vehicle. Malveaux was released on a summons to appear in court on June 12, 2013.

Louis Williams, Jr., 40, 139 Lloyd Lane, Morgan City, LA was arrested on March 2, 2013 on a Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office warrant for failure to appear on the charge of driving while intoxicated. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area conducted a traffic stop on Highway 182. During the stop the deputy made contact with Williams and learned of the warrant for his arrest. Williams was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Kourey Heinan, 19, 1042 Raymond Drive, Broussard, LA was arrested on March 2, 2013 at 4:21 am for underage driving under the influence (R.S. 14:98.1), open alcohol container, and careless operation of a motor vehicle.

Corey Duhon, 21, 1779 Duchamp Road, Broussard, LA was arrested on March 2, 2013 at 4:21 am for unlawful purchase of alcoholic beverages for a person under 21 and possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.

A deputy responding to a complaint of a reckless driver on Hwy. 90 in the Franklin area observed a vehicle drive through a ditch and onto the service road. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver identified as Heinan. Upon speaking with Heinan, the deputy detected the odor of alcohol on his breath. The deputy also made contact with a passenger in the vehicle identified as Duhon. Upon speaking with him, the deputy could smell the odor of alcohol on his breath. During the course of the investigation the deputy located both opened and unopened beer cans in the vehicle. Heinan was given a field sobriety test and performed poorly. He later registered a .109g% on the Intoxilyzor 5000 breath test. Both were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Heinan was released on a $3,000 bond. Duhon was released on a $1,250 bond.

James Crosby, 48, 2136 Highway 83, Franklin, LA was arrested on March 2, 2013 at 12:09 pm on warrants for failure to appear on the charges of threatening a public official and criminal damage to property and criminal trespassing, and warrants for criminal damage to property, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, criminal trespassing, resisting an office with force, and disturbing the peace. The SMPSO was contacted by Crosby who stated he wished to turn himself in. Crosby was located at the residence listed above and transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Juvenile male, 16, Bayou Vista was arrested on March 3, 2013 at 7:01 am for simple burglary of a vehicle, simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, illegal carrying of a weapon, resisting an officer, battery of a police officer, and 5 counts of threatening a public official. A deputy responded to a complaint from an elderly female victim stating that someone was inside her Sun Road residence. Upon arrival the deputy made his way around the home, located a door that had been opened, and entered the residence. The deputy then made his way into the garage where he observed a subject's arm protruding from beneath a vehicle. The subject was identified as the juvenile male listed above. The juvenile was found to be in possession of a paint scraping tool. The elderly female victim was located. She was unharmed during the break in. In the course of the juvenile's arrest he repeatedly threatened deputies and also made threats against the elderly victim. The juvenile attempted to kick out the window of a patrol unit and kicked a deputy in the arm and chest area. The juvenile was transported to the Lafayette Juvenile Detention Center pending juvenile court proceedings. Based on information gathered in this investigation deputies linked the juvenile to another burglary in the area. Additional charges are pending.

Dustin Thibodeaux, 22, 420 Flat Town Road, Charenton, LA was arrested on March 3, 2013 at 9:24 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of no seatbelt and driving under suspension. A deputy conducting a traffic stop on Chitimacha Trail made contact with a passenger in the vehicle. The passenger was identified as Thibodeaux. The deputy conducted a warrants check and learned of the warrant for Thibodeaux's arrest. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $1,500 bond.
