According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 44 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Shaneka Kemp, 27, 458 Verdun Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested on February 20, 2013 at 10:29 am on 4 warrants for failure to appear for drug court. Kemp was located at the parish courthouse in Franklin on the warrants. She was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bond is set at $400,000.
Timothy Darby, 35, 1020 Hickory Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on February 20, 2013 at 10:29 am on two warrants for failure to appear for drug court. Darby was located at the parish courthouse in Franklin on the warrants. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bond is set at $200,000.
Clint Rogers, 55, 10925 Highway 87, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on February 20, 2013 at 12:25 pm for theft by fraud and forgery. On February 15, 2013 a detective began an investigation into a complaint of internet fraud. The victim stated that she was contacted via Craigslist to provide freelance work for a subject claiming to be a documentary film producer. The subject provided the victim with a check in advance for her services. The subject requested that the check be cashed and that a portion of the funds be wired to him. The victim wired $3,800. About a week later the victim was notified by her bank that the check had not cleared. During the course of the investigation the detective identified Rogers as the subject who received the wired funds. Rogers was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set. The investigation is ongoing.
Francis Casmire, Jr., 55, 705 1/2 Foulcard Drive, Franklin, LA was arrested on February 19, 2013 at 8:48 am on a warrant for simple burglary. Casmire was incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville at the time of this arrest. On March 21, 2005 the SMPSO began an investigation into a vehicle burglary in Cypremort Point. During the investigation DNA evidence was collected from the vehicle. The SMPSO was notified by the Acadiana Crime Lab that the DNA collected from the vehicle matched that of Casmire. No bond is set.
