According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 41 complaints and reports the following arrests:
James J. Bourgeois, 56, 77455 Pennino Road, Covington, LA was arrested on February 15, 2013 at 12:30 am for driving while intoxicated 2nd offense. A deputy patrolling Highway 182 in the Garden City area observed a vehicle parked in the parking lot of a business. Upon making contact with the driver, identified as Bourgeois, the deputy detected the odor of alcohol in the vehicle and on his breath. Bourgeois told the deputy that he was on his way to a friends house. During the course of the investigation, Bourgeois performed poorly on the field sobriety test and later registered a .180g% blood alcohol content on the Intoxilyzer 5000 breathe test. Bourgeois was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
