St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Daily Arrest Report

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 72 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 142 complaints and reports the following arrests:


Kayla Morin, 23, 2721 Shaw Driver, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 25, 2013 at 10:14 am on a warrant for failure to appear for issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Morin at her residence on the warrant. She was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Morin was released on a $750 bond.

Duane Roy, Jr., 23, 333 Tiffany Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 25, 2013 at 1:05 pm for no drover's license on person, possession of alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle, and littering.

Brittney Nicole Williams, 23, 716 Duval Street, Amelia, LA was arrested on January 25, 2013 at 1:00 pm for obstruction of justice.

A deputy responded to a single vehicle crash on Highway 90 in the Amelia area. Upon arrival the deputy made contact with Williams who stated that she was the driver. However, during the course of the investigation, the deputy learned from multiple witnesses that Roy was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash. Witnesses also stated that Roy had thrown a can of beer over the side of the bridge. The deputy observed a can floating in the water. Following the crash, both Williams and Roy were transported to Teche Regional Medical Center where they were later arrested. Both were released on summonses to appear in court on April 17, 2013.

Vernon Joseph Robin, Jr., 49, 1422 Front Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 25, 2013 at 3:07 pm on a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. A deputy located Robin at his residence on the warrant. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set. A picture of Robin is attached.

Arthur Joseph Landry, III, 29, 1007 Eaden Street, New Iberia, LA was arrested on a warrants for 9 counts of issuing worthless checks and on an Iberia Parish warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of cocaine. A deputy investigating a complaint on Hwy. 318 in the Jeanerette area made contact with Landry and learned of the warrants for his arrest. Landry was released on a summons to appear in court on April 17, 2013 and transported to the parish jail for extradition to Iberia Parish.

Rudolph Edwards, 59, 1200 James Street Apt. #5, Siracusa, LA was arrested on January 26, 2013 at 4:44 pm for disturbing the peace intoxicated. A deputy responding to a complaint of a suspicious person located a subject lying in the roadway on the corner of Frontage Road and Frances Street in Amelia. Upon making contact with the subject, identified as Edwards, the deputy detected the odor of alcohol on him. Following an investigation, the deputy transported Edwards to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. His bond is set at $250.

Mitchell Trahan, 45, 3562 Langlinous Road, Youngsville, LA was arrested on January 26, 2013 at 11:27 pm for open alcoholic container.

Stacey Trahan, 40, 3562 Langlinous Road, Youngsville, LA was arrested on January 26, 2013 at 11:27 pm for open alcoholic container.

A deputy responded to a complaint of a crash on Hwy. 317 near Burns Point. During the crash investigation the deputy observed an open bottle of liquor in the vehicle. Mitchell Trahan and Stacey Trahan both stated they had been drinking. Both were issued summonses to appear in court on April 17, 2013.

Egbert Sonny Pennison, 35, 926 St. Marie Alley, Amelia, LA was arrested on January 27, 2013 at 8:15 pm for domestic abuse battery and misrepresentation during booking.

Tiffany Watkins, 29, 926 St. Marie Alley, Amelia, LA was arrested on January 27, 2013 at 8:15 pm for domestic abuse battery.

A deputy responded to the area of the Amelia Library in reference to a complaint of domestic abuse. During the course of the investigation the deputy learned that Watkins and Pennison had been drinking when they got into a physical altercation. Both were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. During booking Pennison refused to give identification information to deputies. No bond is set.

Niecy Linn Martin, 30, 221 Choctaw Drive, Charenton, LA was arrested on January 28, 2013 at 12:07 am for disturbing the peace intoxicated and resisting an officer. A deputy patrolling the Franklin area responded to a complaint of a disturbance at 15810 Hwy. 182. Upon arrival the deputy observed a female subject yelling at a male subject. The female was identified as Martin. When attempting to speak with Martin, the deputy detected a strong odor of alcohol on her breath. As Martin continued to yell, deputies attempted to escort Martin away from the male subject but she resisted. Martin was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. She was released on a $1,250 bond.
