St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Daily Arrest Report

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 48 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Michelle Lanclos, 26, 8543 Prairie Road South, Centerville, LA was arrested on January 24, 2013 at 7:29 am for theft. A deputy responded to a complaint of theft at a Cane Road residence. Upon arrival the deputy learned from the complainant that her purse had been stolen from her home. The deputy initiated an investigation and located the purse at the residence of Lanclos. She was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Lanclos was released on a $1,000 bond.

Pamela Davis, 39, 229 Picket Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested on January 24, 2013 at 10:27 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of issuing worthless checks and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft. A deputy located Davis on the warrants. She was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

James August Smith, 37, 400 Darlene Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 24, 2013 at 11:52 am for improper lane usage, driving under suspension, resisting an officer by giving false information, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy observed trash flying out of the back of a pick up truck traveling on Hwy. 90 in the Franklin area and conducted a traffic stop. Upon speaking with Smith, the driver of the vehicle, the deputy learned that he identified himself using a fake name and that his driver's license was suspended. After receiving consent to search the vehicle the deputy located a glass pipe. Smith was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $3,750 bond.

Christopher James Grogan, 28, 3612 Captain Cade, New Iberia, LA was arrested on January 24, 2013 at 3:01 pm for speeding, driving under suspension, and on a warrant from Iberia Parish for failure to appear on the charges of illegal window tint and driving under suspension. A deputy, operating RADAR on Hwy. 90 in the New Iberia area observed a vehicle traveling 75 mph in a 65 miles per hour zone and conducted a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, Grogan was unable to produce a valid driver's license. The deputy also learned of the warrant for his arrest. Grogan was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. His bond is set at $2,250.

Sheree Martin, 30, 152 Cremo Lane, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 24, 2013 at 1:58 pm for theft. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area responded to a complaint of a shoplifter at Walmart in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival the deputy learned from store security that Martin was observed placing items in a backpack and then leaving the store without paying for the items. Martin was released on a summons to appear in court on April 17, 2013.

The SMPSO reports one additional arrest which occurred on January 23, 2013.

Marlin D. Webster, 47, 409 Hamilton Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on January 23, 2013 at 1:30 pm on a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. A deputy located Webster on Willow Street in Franklin on the warrant. Webster was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set. A picture of Webster is also attached.
