According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 35 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Candice N. Ashley, 24, 134 Andras Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on May 8, 2014 at 9:49 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of cancelled license plate, no insurance, and failure to secure registration. Ashley was transported from the Assumption Parish detention center to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on the warrant. Bond is set at $1,500.
James P. Viosin, 29, 459 Kyle Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on May 8, 2014 at 10:47 am on warrants for probation violation and failure to appear on the charges of DWI, careless operation of a motor vehicle, driving under suspension, and no insurance. Voisin was transported from the Assumption Parish detention center to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on the warrants. No bond is set.
Ashton P. Jones, 33, 483 Ratcliff Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested on May 8, 2014 at 10:50 am for domestic abuse battery. Jones turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville after learning of the active warrant for his arrest. The warrant stems from an investigation into a report of a disturbance at a residence on Ratcliff Lane. According to statements taken in the investigation, Jones punched and slapped a female victim while she slept. Jones was later released on a $6,000 bond.
Juvenile male, 15, Patterson, LA was arrested on May 8, 2014 at 3:27 pm for simple criminal damage to property. A deputy responded to a complaint of property damaged at Patterson High School. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned from witnesses that the juvenile male keyed a teacher's vehicle. The deputy released the juvenile to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Andrew Goree, 19, 114 Domino Driver, Patterson, LA was arrested on May 8, 2014 at 3:02 am for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy was told by store security that Goree was seen placing items into a shopping bag inside the store. Goree then attempted to leave the store without paying for the items. The deputy released Goree on a summons to appear in court on August 22, 2014.
