St. Mary Parish Narcotics daily arrest report for May 23, 2014

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:

Jared M. Johnson, 31, 137 W. 75th St. Cut Off, LA was arrested on May 22, 2014 at 4:00 pm on the following charges:
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor
- Possession of a firearm in presence of a CDS
- Violation of CDS law (drug free zone)
Detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division assisted Louisiana State Police on a traffic stop on US 90 in the Bayou Vista area. During the course of the stop, detectives received consent to search the vehicle and located marijuana, smoking pipes, rolling papers, a grinder, and pistols. Two small children were in the vehicle at the time of the investigation. Johnson, the passenger in the vehicle, was transported to the parish jail for booking. Johnson was later released on a $10,000 bond.

Lucille G. Leonard, 34, 711 Franklin Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on May 22, 2014 at 6:37 pm on a warrant for possession of Schedule III (Suboxen). Narcotics detectives located Leonard at the Lake End Park campground in Morgan City on the warrant. The warrant stems from a traffic stop investigation during which Leonard was found to be in possession of Suboxen.

Alton Brashear, 63, 711 Duke St. Morgan City, LA was arrested on May 22, 2014 at 11:58 pm for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Alton Castille, 38, 711 Duke Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on May 22, 2014 at 11:58 pm on the following charges:
- Possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of marijuana - 2nd offense
- Possession of Schedule IV (Xanax)
- Transactions involving drug proceeds
- Obstruction of justice
Narcotics detectives with the assistance of Morgan City Police Department detectives, conducted a search warrant at the above listed address. During the course of the search, detectives located crack cocaine, marijuana, Xanax pills, items of drug paraphernalia, and over $900 in cash (US currency). During the investigation, Castille attempted to hide the crack cocaine from narcotics detectives. Castille was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bond is set. Brashear was released on a summons to appear in court on August 22, 2014.
