According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
Gage Tapia, 19, 110 Natalie Lane, Patterson, LA was arrested on February 10, 2014 at 5:06 pm on a warrant for attempted possession of Schedule I (marijuana) with intent to distribute. While patrolling the Bayou Vista area, detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division observed Tapia at the Bayou Vista Skate Park. Detectives knew that Tapia held an active warrant for arrest. The warrant stems from an investigation dating back to May of 2013 when Tapia unknowingly contacted detectives by mobile phone and attempted to purchase the illegal drug. Tapia was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Juvenile female, 13, Morgan City, LA was arrested on February 10, 2014 at 6:23 pm for unlawful possession of tobacco.
Juvenile male, 15, Morgan City, LA was arrested on February 10, 2014 at 6:23 pm for unlawful possession of tobacco, possession of Schedule I (marijuana), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Juvenile male, 16, Berwick, LA was arrested on February 10, 2014 at 6:23 pm for unlawful possession of tobacco.
Narcotics detectives patrolling the Bayou Vista area observed a vehicle fail to properly signal a turn and conducted a traffic stop on Southeast Boulevard. As detectives approached the vehicle, they saw all three juvenile occupants smoking cigarettes. Narcotics detectives also found the 15 year old juvenile to be in possession of a metal pipe and marijuana. The three juveniles were released to guardians pending juvenile court proceedings.
