According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
Gilberto Gonzales, 24, 3740 Avalon Ave. Port Arthur, TX was arrested on April 9, 2013 at 7:00 pm on US Hwy. 90 in Baldwin for possession of synthetic cannabinoids, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile, and abuse of toxic vapors. Detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division patrolling the Four Corners area observed a vehicle fail to stop at the stop sign on US Hwy. 90 Frontage Rd. Detectives conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the passenger, identified as Gilberto Gonzales. Detectives received consent to search the vehicle from the driver and located synthetic cannabinoids belonging to Gonzales. Gonzales was placed under arrest and transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set. There was a juvenile in the vehicle. The juvenile was released to a guardian.
