St. Mary Parish daily arrest report for September 3, 2014

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 47 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Juvenile male, 13, Charenton, LA was arrested on September 2, 2014 at 8:09 am for ungovernable juvenile, two counts simple battery, and criminal damage to property. A school resource officer at B.E. Boudreaux Middle School responded to a report of an ungovernable juvenile in a classroom. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that the juvenile struck one teacher and pushed another teacher. Both teachers sought medical treatment at Franklin Foundation Hospital and were later released. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court action.

John Finister, V, 21, 104 Chris Lane, Centerville, LA was arrested on September 2, 2014 at 11:26 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of alprazolam, possession of clonazepam, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a person under 17, domestic abuse battery with a child present, and disturbing the peace. A deputy located Finister at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin on the warrant. The deputy transported Finister to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Chad Toups, 40, 112 Doris Road, Amelia, LA was arrested on September 2, 2014 at 11:37 am on a warrant for theft of a motor vehicle. The warrant stems from an investigation into a report of a stolen vehicle received on September 1, 2014. Deputies identified Toups as the subject who took the vehicle from a residence on Clines Lane in Amelia and obtained a warrant for his arrest. The deputy located Toups at his residence and transported him to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Juvenile female, 16, Charenton, LA was arrested on September 2, 2014 at 4:59 pm for illegal possession of stolen things. A deputy investigating a report of a stolen mobile phone developed information that the juvenile was in possession of the item. The phone was located at the juvenile's residence. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

Catrina Druilhet, 35, 207 John Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on September 2, 2014 at 8:11 pm for the following offenses:
- Warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft
- Warrant for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of probation on the charge of issuing worthless checks
During booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a deputy identified Druilhet as havening two warrants from St. Mary Parish. No bail is set.

David Smith, 24, 2413 Highway 182, Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 2, 2014 at 6:04 pm on a warrant for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. Narcotics detectives patrolling the Morgan City area observed Smith exiting a vehicle on Egle Street. Detectives knew that Smith was wanted on the active warrant and affected the arrest. Smith was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $100,000.

Payton Bailey, 18, 3308 Lake Palourde Road, Amelia, LA was arrested on September 2, 2014 at 7:23 pm for improper lane usage, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Narcotics detectives patrolling the Amelia area observed a vehicle cross onto the shoulder of Duhon Boulevard and conducted a traffic stop. Detectives made contact with the driver, identified as Bailey. During the traffic stop investigation, detectives received consent to search the vehicle and located marijuana and rolling papers. Additional marijuana was also located on Bailey's person. Detectives released Bailey on a summons to appear in court on November 24, 2014.

Grayce Haines, 19, 715 General Hodges Apt. #1, Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 2, 2014 at 9:04 pm for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Franklin Pearce, III, 29, 715 General Hodges Apt. #1, Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 2, 2014 at 9:04 pm on the following charges:
- Possession of marijuana, second offense
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of Schedule IV (Klonopin)
- Entering contraband into a penal institution

Darren Jackson, 30, 123 Lydia Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on September 2, 2014 at 9:04 pm for possession of marijuana, third offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for running a red light on LA Highway 182 at Myrtle Street in Morgan City. Detectives made contact with the driver and passenger, Pearce and Haines. After receiving consent to search the vehicle, detectives located several synthetic cannabinoid cigarettes. Continuing the investigation, narcotics detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence of Pearce and Haines, 715 General Hodges Apt. #1. Upon execution of the warrant, detectives found Jackson inside the apartment smoking synthetic cannabinoids. Detectives searched Jackson and located a bag of synthetic cannabinoids. A digital scale, marijuana, and synthetic cannabinoids were located inside the apartment during the search. Haines was released on a summons to appear in court on November 24, 2014. . Pearce has a prior marijuana conviction. Jackson has two prior marijuana convictions. Pearce and Jackson were transported to the parish jail for booking. During booking, deputies located several Klonopin pills concealed in Pearce's shoe. No bail is set for Pearce or Jackson.
