According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 38 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Brent Burgess, 34, 116 Tunica Drive, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on May 29, 2014 at 12:51 pm on a warrant for simple battery. Burgess turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville after learning of the warrant for his arrest. The warrant stems from an investigation into a complaint of a battery that occurred on Chitimacha Trail in Charenton. During the course of the investigation, a deputy learned that Burgess slapped a male victim. Burgess was booked and later released on a $500 bond.
Brad Holbert, Jr., 28, 112 Hernandez Court, Morgan City, LA was arrested on May 29, 2014 at 4:33 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of underage driving under the influence. A deputy transported Holbert from the Assumption Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on the warrant. No bond is set.
Mary Minvielle, 37, 4015 McNally Road, New Iberia, LA was arrested on May 29, 2014 at 3:13 pm ona warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Minvielle at a business on Northwest Boulevard in Franklin on the warrant. The deputy released Minvielle on a summons to appear in court on August 11, 2014.
Heather Blanchard, 19, 101 3B's Lane Apt. #2, Morgan City, LA was arrested on May 29, 2014 at 11:09 pm for disturbing the peace (fighting).
Juvenile female, 14, New Orleans, LA was arrested on May 29, 2014 at 11:09 pm for disturbing the peace (fighting) and resisting an officer (giving false information).
Deputies responded to a report of a fight in progress at 101 3 B's Lane. During the course of the investigation, deputies learned that Blanchard and the juvenile female were involved in a physical altercation. When deputies spoke with the juvenile, she initially gave deputies a false name and age. Blanchard was transported to the parish jail for booking and was released on a $500 bond. At this time, the juvenile remains in the custody of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office.
Kimber Thompson, 26, 375 Pacific Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on May 29, 2014 at 11:12 am on a warrant for possession of Schedule I (synthetic cannabinoids) with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presents of a juvenile, violation of CDS law (drug free zone), and tail lights required. Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division knew Thompson held an active warrant for her arrest and made contact with her at the St. Mary Parish courthouse in Franklin. Thompson was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration.
