St. Mary Parish daily arrest report for May 29, 2014

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 42 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Jermaine Keys, 38, 1051 Grace Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on May 28, 2014 at 12:03 pm on a warrant from Terrebonne Parish for failure to appear on the charges of speeding, driving under suspension, and expired license plate. A deputy located Keys at the St. Mary Parish courthouse in Franklin on the warrant. The deputy transported Keys to the parish jail for booking. Bond is set at $600.

Robin Gassenberger, Jr., 36, 209 Carlon Drive, Des Allemands, LA was arrested on May 28, 2014 at 8:49 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of speeding and failure to obey a traffic control signal. A deputy made contact with Gassenberger during a traffic stop on Highway 90 in Morgan City and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. The deputy transported Gassenberger to the parish jail for booking. Bond is set at $2,000.

Mark A. Ruffin, 39, 2465 Irish Bend Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on May 28, 2014 at 7:36 pm on a warrant for the following charges:
- Possession Schedule III with intent to distribute (methandienone)
- Possession Schedule III with intent to distribute (testosterone)
- Possession Schedule III with intent to distribute (codeine)
- Possession Schedule III with intent to distribute (testosterone enanthate)
- Possession Schedule III with intent to distribute (stanozolol)
- Possession Schedule III with intent to distribute (boldenone)
- Possession Schedule III with intent to distribute (testosterone cypionate)
- Possession Schedule III with intent to distribute (testosterone propionate)
- Possession Schedule III with intent to distribute (nandrolone decanoate)

Detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division located Ruffin at his residence on the warrant. The above charges stem from a search warrant conducted by detectives in March at the above listed residence. During the search of the residence, detectives located several bottles containing suspected steroids. The contents were sent to a crime lab for analysis and tested positive for the Schedule III controlled dangerous substances. Detectives transported Ruffin to the parish jail for booking. No bond is set.

Damian Brown, 31, 145 Mercury Street, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on May 28, 2014 at 9:22 pm on the following charges:
- Operation of a clandestine laboratory
- Possession of drug paraphernalia

Jolene E. Frye, 30, 145 Mercury Street, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on May 28, 2014 at 9:22 pm on the following charges:
- Operation of a clandestine laboratory
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of Legend Drug (Neurontin)
- Warrant for criminal damage to property and criminal trespass
During a joint operation, detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division and Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at 145 Mercury Street. During the search inside the residence, detectives located chemicals, materials, and drugs consistent with the production of methamphetamine. In addition to these precursors, detectives also located an active meth lab. Detectives transported Frye and Brown to the parish jail for booking. No bond is set.

Chance M. Landry, 24, 117 Pond Drive, Bayou L'ourse, LA was arrested on May 28, 2014 at 5:49 pm on the following charges:
- Distribution of Schedule IV (Xanax)
- Possession with intent to distribute Schedule IV (Xanax)

Cory R. Gagliano, 24, 131 Honey Ln. Morgan City, LA
- Possession Schedule IV (Xanax)
- Possession of Legend Drug (Reglan)
- Improper lane use
Narcotics detectives patrolling the Morgan City area observed a suspected drug deal between a subject in a vehicle and a subject on foot. Detectives followed the vehicle onto U.S. Highway 90 and observed the driver cross onto the shoulder of the roadway. Detectives conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Gagliano. Detectives received consent to search and located Xanax and Reglan pills on Gagliano's person and in his vehicle. Continuing the investigation into the drug transaction, detectives made contact with the subject on foot, identified as Landry. Detectives received consent to search his person and located Xanax pills. Detectives transported both subjects to the parish jail for booking. No bond is set.
