According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 54 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Juvenile male, 14, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on May 14, 2014 at 8:47 am for simple battery.
Juvenile male, 15, Baldwin, LA was arrested on May 14, 2014 at 8:47 am for simple battery.
A school resource officer working at B.E. Boudreaux Middle School received a report of two juveniles fighting. The deputy made contact with the juveniles and learned that a physical altercation occurred following an argument between the two teenagers. Both juveniles were released to guardians pending juvenile court proceedings.
Cotina P. Rink, 38, 3221 Jennie Drive, Morgan City, LA was arrested on May 14, 2014 at 9:25 am on a warrant for theft (by fraud). The warrant stems from an investigation into mobile phone reported stolen from a store in Bayou Vista. The detective working on the case learned that the phone had been returned to the customer service desk where a female subject claimed the lost item. Through the course of the investigation, the detective determined that the female subject, later identified as Rink, was not the true owner of the mobile phone. Rink was arrested on May 12, 2014 on a warrant for illegal possession of stolen things. Continuing the investigation, the detective questioned Rink about the cell phone. Rink admitted to selling the property for $100. The detective obtained a second warrant for Rink's arrest. A deputy located Rink at her residence on the warrant. Rink was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Rink was later released on a $1000 bond. The detective recovered and returned the stolen cell phone to its rightful owner.
Donovan Mabile, 30, 115 Roy Street, Plattenville, LA was arrested on May 14, 2014 at 12:58 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of driving under suspension. A deputy transported Mabile to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville from the Iberville Parish jail on the warrant. Mabile was released on a $2,500 bond.
Brandi D. Anthony, 38, 1521 Fairview Street, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on May 14, 2014 at 6:46 pm for theft of goods and remaining where forbidden. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy was told by store security that Anthony was seen concealing items on her person before attempting to leave the store without paying for the goods. The deputy also learned that Anthony had been previously banned from the property. The deputy transported Anthony to the parish jail for booking. She was later released on a $1,500 bond.
Jamie Jacobs, 28, 425 A Nolan Duchane Road, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on May 14, 2014 at 10:15 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of failure to appear, driving on the right side of the road, failure to use seatbelts, unregistered vehicle, switched license plate, and failure to honor written promise to appear. A deputy made contact with Jacobs during a traffic stop on Highway 182 in Baldwin and learned of the active warrant for her arrest. The deputy transported Jacobs to the parish jail for booking. She was later released on a $399.50 bond.
Destanie Daigle, 23, 1468 Fairmont Avenue, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on May 14, 2014 at 10:18 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana. A deputy made contact with Daigle on Fairmont Avenue and learned of the active warrant for her arrest. Daigle was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bond is set.
Deshawn Moore, 18, 1015 Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, LA was arrested on May 15, 2014 at 2:51 am for possession of Schedule I drugs. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area observed the driver of a vehicle fail to stop sign on the corner of Southeast Boulevard and Middle Road. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver identified as Moore. While speaking with Moore, the deputy saw pieces of a green leafy substance on the driver's seat. Through further investigation, the deputy located a bag of marijuana inside the vehicle. Moore was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bond is set at $2,000.
