According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 38 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Jurrell A. Alleman, 31, 5102 Alleman Road, New Iberia, LA was arrested on August 18, 2014 at 3:28 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of driving under suspension and driving across the median. A deputy transported Alleman from the Lafayette Detention Center to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. Bail is set at $5,000.
Georgette Cuvillier, 32, last known address 133 Lagonda Lane, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on August 19, 2014 at 1:43 am for flight from an officer, resisting an officer with force or violence, disturbing the peace (intoxicated), and on a warrant for unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. A deputy patrolling Clarke and Saturn Roads in Bayou Vista observed a female subject walking through the yards of homes. The deputy made contact with the subject, identified as Cuvillier, and observed her to be in an intoxicated state. Upon being asked for identification, Cuvillier fled from the deputy on foot. The deputy pursued Cuvillier onto South Road, Southeast Boulevard, Canal Road, and back onto Clarke where the deputy apprehended her. During the arrest, Cuvillier attempted to pull away from the deputy. The warrant offense stems from an investigation into a complaint of unauthorized entry of a residence on Lagonda Lane in Bayou Vista on July 23, 2014. The complainant stated that two subjects were seen exiting the home. After gathering statements from witnesses, the deputy identified one of the subjects as Cory Leblanc who was arrested that day. Continuing the investigation, the deputy identified the second subject seen entering the residence as Cuvillier. Cuvillier was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
Henry W. Daigle, Jr., 50, 1204 Columbus Street, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on August 19, 2014 at 1:45 am for driving while intoxicated, improper lane usage, and failure to signal a turn. A deputy travelling on Highway 182 in Morgan City observed a vehicle moving at a slow rate of speed, swerving from lane to lane. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Daigle. The deputy smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from Daigle's breath and person. Daigle performed poorly on the field sobriety test. He later registered a 0.201g% blood alcohol concentration on the breath test. Daigle was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
