St. Mary Parish Daily Arrest Report

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 32 complaints and reports the following arrests:

David Hayes age 28 of 8912 Hwy 182 Centerville, La was arrested on March 27, 2014 at 603am at 128 Palmer Lane Centerville, La on a warrant for Failure to appear for Contempt Hearing for Criminal Neglect of Family. Deputy located David placed him under arrest. David was transported to parish jail for processing and incarceration with bond of $12,124.24.

Desmon Cousin age 37 of 777 Oregon St Berwick, La was arrested on March 27, 2014 at 1234pm at 1455 Railroad Ave, Morgan City, La on charges of Theft over $500.00. Deputy was called to a business in Amelia reference to a theft of some items belonging to a diesel engine. Deputy then went to a local scrap yard and found that some of the same items missing had been sold to the scrap yard. Suspect was identified as Desmon which resulted in his arrest. Desmon was transported to the parish jail for processing and incarceration. No bond at press time.

Were both arrested on March 27, 2014 at 710pm at 109 Charenton Beach Road Charenton, La for theft of a garbage can. Deputy was called the Charenton Beach road to investigate a theft of a garbage can. Victim had seen the theft take place and deputy found suspect vehicle in the area. They were found to have the can in back of their truck. Both were issued a summons to appear in court on June 12, 2014.

Jose Ponce Mencia age 29 of 120 11th street Morgan City, La was arrested on March 27, 2014 at 1114pm at same location on charges of Theft and Resisting an officer. Deputy was dispatched to a local business reference to an employee having his debit card stolen. Deputy arrived and took information about the theft and went to a suspect residence to investigate. Upon speaking to the suspect, Jose, had the stolen card on his person, Jose had been using a false name at the business while working there. He was placed under arrest and was transported to parish jail for processing and incarceration. He was released on $2000.00 bond.
