St. Mary Parish Daily Arrest Report

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 72 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 127 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Tyler Brewer, 400 Louisa Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on March 7, 2014 at 4:25 pm for theft of goods and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that Brewer was seen bagging items from the store and then attempting to leave without paying for the goods. Brewer was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bail is set at $6,000.

Darrel Williams, 55, 1238 West Ibert Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on March 7, 2014 at 6:43 pm for theft. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that Williams was seen bagging attempting to leave the store without paying for items. Williams was released on a summons to appear in court on June12, 2014.

Jonathon Conner, 34, 414 Henry Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on March 7, 2014 at 10:09 pm for possession of Schedule II (Adderall), and on three warrants all for failure to appear on the charges of failure to yield, simple criminal damage to property, and driving under suspension. A deputy responded to a report of a subject in a truck who appeared to be unconscious. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with a subject who was sleeping in the vehicle, identified as Conner. The deputy discovered that Conner held active warrants for his arrest. Also, the deputy observed that Conner was in an intoxicated state. Through further investigation, with the assistance of the Morgan City Police Department K-9 Unit, Adderall pills were located in the truck. Conner was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Jensy Ortiz, 36, 120 Chenault Street Lot #2, Morgan City, LA was arrested on March 8, 2014 at 2:39 am for improper lane usage and driving while intoxicated. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed a vehicle cross the center line into an opposing lane of travel on Highway 182 near the Greenwood Overpass. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver identified as Ortiz. The deputy smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from Ortiz's breath and person. Ortiz performed poorly on the field sobriety test. He later registered a 0.150g% on the Intoxilyzer 5000 breath test. Ortiz was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $2,750 bond.

Crystal Broussard, 36, 152 Greenleaf Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on March 8, 2014 at 3:33 am on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. While responding to a complaint in Amelia, a deputy made contact with Broussard and learned of the warrant for her arrest. Broussard was released on a summons to appear in court on June 12, 2014.

Brittany D. Martin, 25, 3004 Lizabeth Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on March 8, 2014 at 9:34 am on a warrant for probation violation. A deputy made contact with Martin during a traffic stop on Highway 90 in the Morgan City area and learned of the warrant for her arrest. Martin was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Byron Williams, 36, 465 Verdun Lane, Verdunville, LA was arrested on March 8, 2014 at 11:22 am for hit and run driving. A deputy responded to a complaint of a hit and run on Prairie Road North. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that a vehicle had struck a ditch and a garbage can before leaving the scene of the crash. Deputies searched the area and located the suspect vehicle that had damage consistent with the hit and run. The vehicle was positively identified and the deputy made contact with the owner, Williams. Williams was released on a summons to appear in court on June 12, 2014.

Jamie Martin, 27, 724 Prairie Road North, Centerville, LA was arrested on March 8, 2014 at 11:38 am for resisting an officer and reckless operation of a vehicle. A deputy working a separate complaint on Prairie Road North was flagged down by a male subject who claimed he had been struck by a vehicle. The deputy quickly located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to pull over continuing at a high rate of speed on Prairie Road North. While following the vehicle, the deputy observed the driver swerving on and off the roadway. The vehicle then stopped in a driveway on Prairie Road North. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Martin. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that the male subject claiming to be struck by Martin was uninjured. She was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Brenda Calderon Magana, 23, 125 Diana Lane, Patterson, LA was arrested on March 8, 2014 at 6:39 pm for theft of goods and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that Magana was seen placing items in her purse and then attempting to leave the store without paying for the goods. Magana had children with her at the time the crime was committed. She was released on a summons to appear in court on June12, 2014.

Jeffery Leon, 44, 4509 Donna Road, New Iberia, LA was arrested on March 8, 2014 at 9:16 pm on a warrant from Iberia Parish for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responding to a complaint on Irish Bend Road made contact with Leon who held an active warrant for his arrest. Leon was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bail is set.
