According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 35 complaints and reports the following arrests:
John Carlisle, 54, 2009 Corner Meadow Circle, Orlando, FL was arrested on February 12, 2014 at 7:38 am for driving while intoxicated and failure to obey a traffic control sign. A deputy patrolling the area of Highway 90 near Berwick observed a vehicle make an illegal left turn at the intersection of Highway 182 and the Berwick exit. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver identified as Carlisle. The deputy smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person and heard Carlisle slurring his speech. The deputy conducted a field sobriety test on which Carlisle performed poorly. Carlisle refused to submit to a breath test. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Andrew Hebert, 22, 114 Lake Palourde Road, Amelia, LA was arrested on February 12, 2014 at 3:37 pm on a warrant for domestic abuse battery (strangulation) (child endangerment) and resisting an officer. While assisting Probation and Parole Officers, a sheriff's deputy made contact with Hebert who held an active warrant for arrest. The warrant stems from an investigation that began on February 8, 2014. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area heard what sounded like a woman screaming for help. The deputy observed a male subject grabbing the arm of a female subject who was pushing an infant in a stroller. Upon seeing the deputy, the male subject fled on foot evading the deputy. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Hebert struck the female victim and grabbed her by the throat while at a residence on Lake Palourde Road. Hebert also threw several items inside the residence while the infant was nearby. Hebert was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Derek Pellegrin, 35, 138 Bermuda Court, Houma, LA was arrested on February 12, 2014 at 2:32 pm on a warrant from Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office for failure to appear on the charge of domestic abuse battery. A deputy located Pellegrin on Siracusa Road in Morgan City. Pellegrin was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bond is set at $300.
Kenneth J. Wilson, 42, 320 Charlotte Drive, Patterson, LA was arrested on February 12, 2014 at 5:28 pm for driving while intoxicated 2nd offense and hit and run driving. A deputy responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Highway 182 in Patterson. While en route, the deputy received information that the driver of the vehicle had left the scene on foot. Upon arrival, the deputy located a car in a ditch off of Highway 182. Using a description provided by witnesses, the deputy was able to make contact with the driver who was asked to return to the scene. The deputy identified the driver as Wilson and smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. Wilson performed poorly on the field sobriety test and later registered a 0.213g% on the breath test. Wilson was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Michael W. Adams, 41, 3417 Highway 87, Franklin, LA was arrested on February 12, 2014 at 1:08 pm for simple burglary. A deputy began an investigation into a report residential burglary on February 11, 2014. With the assistance of a description provided by an observant citizen, the deputy identified Adams as a suspect in the crime. The deputy asked Adams to come to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office in Franklin in reference to the investigation. While speaking with the deputy, Adams admitted to entering the home without permission. Adams was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Adam Leblanc, 24, 424 Fandal Street, Gibson, LA was arrested on February 13, 2014 at 2:16 am on the following charges:
- Aggravated assault with a firearm
- Flight from an officer
- Possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
- Reckless operation of a vehicle
- Hit and run driving
- Obstructing a public passage
- Possession of Schedule I (marijuana)
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance at a bar in Amelia. While en route, the deputy received information that a subject involved in the disturbance had left the area in a pick- up truck. The deputy observed a truck matching the description provided by the complainant and initiated a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop. The deputy briefly pursued the vehicle on Highway 182 when the vehicle stopped after striking a fence. The driver, identified as Leblanc, was detained. During the course of the subsequent investigation, the deputy learned from witnesses that before driving away from the bar, Leblanc struck another vehicle and pointed a gun at a male victim. The deputy observed a gun inside the vehicle along with marijuana and rolling papers. Leblanc was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Purcell Gros, 39, 165 Two Sisters Court, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on February 12, 2014 at 1:56 pm for attempted possession of synthetic cannabinoids.
Ashlyn Gros, 21, 154 Sun Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on February 12, 2014 at 1:56 pm for possession of synthetic cannabinoids, possession of drug paraphernalia, and misuse of toxic vapors.
Detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division received a phone call from Purcell Gros stating that he wanted to purchase synthetic marijuana. P. Gros was unaware that he was contacting narcotics detectives. Detectives negotiated the purchase and agreed to meet at a specific location for the transaction. Upon arrival, detectives made contact with Ashlyn Gros and P. Gros on Two Sisters Court. After receiving consent to search A. Gros' vehicle and person, detectives located a pack of synthetic cannabinoids and rolling papers. Also during the investigation, P. Gros admitted to agreeing to meet with detectives with the intent to purchase the synthetic cannabinoids. Both subjects were released on summonses to appear in court on May 22, 2014.
Holly Robb, 32, 1217 Weber Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on February 12, 2014 at 6:34 pm for possession of Schedule IV (Xanax) and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of stop sign violation.
Narcotics detectives received information of illegal drug use on Cedar Street in Franklin. Detectives located a parked vehicle in the area and made contact with Robb who was sitting inside the car. During the course of the investigation, detectives located Xanax pills. Robb was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
