St. Mary Parish Daily Arrest Report

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 28 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Wayne Menendez, 50, 407 Ida Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on January 29, 2014 at 4:31 pm for domestic abuse battery and disturbing the peace. A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance that took place at a residence in Bayou Vista, During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Menendez pushed a female victim and broke her mobile phone during an argument. Menendez was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Susana Hernandez, 27, 233 Southwest Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on January 29, 2014 at 12:24 pm for 2 counts of criminal abandonment. During the morning hours of January 26, 2014, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office received an anonymous tip that two juveniles had been left home, alone at the above listed address without adult supervision. Deputies went to the address and located two juveniles, a 6 year old boy and 9 year old girl, alone at the residence. The children were turned over to the custody of the Office of Child Services. Continuing the investigation, deputies located Hernandez at her residence and transported her to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office in Morgan City in reference to the case. Hernandez admitted to deputies that she knowingly left her children at home unattended. She was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set. Naomi Courville, 36, 410 Bush Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 29, 2014 at 7:13 pm on a warrant from Terrebonne Parish for issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Courville at her residence on the warrant. She was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Courville was released on a $500 bond.

Adrian Sutton, 23, 125 Jones Road Lot #2, Four Corners, LA was arrested on January 30, 2014 at 1:10 am on a warrant for probation violation. A deputy patrolling the Four Corners area, made contact with a subject who was walking on Hwy. 318. The deputy identified the subject as Sutton who was wanted on the active warrant. Sutton was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bond is set at $5,000.
Kerry Ventress, 32, 246 Prairie Road N., Verdunville, LA was arrested on January 30, 2014 at 3:06 am on a warrant for theft of goods. A deputy located Ventress at his residence on the warrant. Ventress was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $1,000 bond.Taylor R. Brown, 18, 415 Mike Drive, Patterson, LA is charged with the following:
- Distribution of marijuana
- Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)
- Contributing to the delinquency of juveniles
- Possession of drug paraphernalia

Trevor I. Thomas, 24, 433 Mike Dr. Patterson, LA is charged with the following:
- Distribution of marijuana
- Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)
- Contributing to the delinquency of juveniles
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Warrant for failure to appear on the charge of open container

Juvenile male, 16, Patterson is charged with the following:
- Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
- Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)

Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division were traveling on Hwy 90 in Patterson when they observed a vehicle turn into the median without signaling. Detectives conducted a traffic stop on Veterans Drive and made contact with the occupants of the vehicle listed above. Detectives received consent to search the vehicle from the driver, Brown. Detectives located a marijuana cigarette, a cigar wrap, a small bag of marijuana and a larger bag of marijuana in the vehicle. Through the subsequent investigation, detectives learned that Brown and Thomas purchased the marijuana and had given one of the bags to the juvenile who intended to sell the illegal drug. All three subjects were placed under arrest at 7:30 pm. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings. Brown and Thomas were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
