According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 72 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 107 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Kristin R. Hull, 23, 523 Henry Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 24, 2014 at 8:10 pm for introduction of contraband into a penal institution. Hull turned herself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on drug court sanctions. During booking, Hull was found to be in possession of a mobile phone. No bond is set.
Lien V. Doan, 38, 1434 Bernice Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 24, 2014 at 9:42 pm for hit and run driving, failure to signal, passing in a no passing zone, and violation of general speed law. A deputy assisting with a weather related traffic checkpoint on LA 182 at the Greenwood overpass in Morgan City saw a pick up truck rapidly accelerate around several vehicles that were waiting to cross the overpass. After passing the vehicles in the clearly marked no passing zone, the truck then returned to the lane of traffic without using a turn signal. The deputy then observed the vehicle travelling at an unsafe rate of speed under the weather conditions. The deputy stopped the driver of the vehicle who was identified as Doan. While citing Doan for the violations, another driver approached the deputy stating that Doan had struck his vehicle before leaving the scene. Following an investigation into the hit and run, Doan was arrested and transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $1,750 bond.
Chantell Renthrope, 37, 514 St. Mary Street #3, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 25, 2014 at 3:51 pm for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that Renthrope was seen placing several items in her purse. Renthrope then attempted to leave the store without paying for the goods. She was released on a summons to appear in court on April, 28, 2014.
Sidney Brown, 55, 1013 Birch Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 25, 2014 at 4:09 pm for theft (over $500). A deputy investigating a complaint of a stolen check from a business in the Amelia area, identified Brown as the subject who cashed the check at a bank in Houma and requested that he come to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office in Morgan City in reference to the investigation. Brown admitted to the deputy that he did cash the check. Brown was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Larry Ribardi, 55, 408 Darlene Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 25, 2014 at 6:33 pm for domestic abuse battery and aggravated assault with a firearm. A deputy was dispatched to a domestic disturbance in progress at a residence in Patterson. As the deputy approached the residence, he heard the sound of a female subject crying and a male subject yelling. The deputy made contact with the male subject who was identified as Ribardi. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Ribardi and a female victim were arguing when Ribardi punched the victim in the face and pushed her against a wall before threatening her life with a gun. Ribardi was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
William L. Daugherty, 56, 1711 Fern Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 25, 2014 at 9:48 pm for driving while intoxicated, hit and run driving, and careless operation. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area observed a damaged vehicle driving on Moon Road. Continuing to patrol, the deputy travelled to Highway 182 and Moon Road where she observed a red liquid substance in the roadway. The deputy then followed the trail of the liquid to a parking lot off of Moon Road where the damaged vehicle was parked. The deputy made contact with the driver who was identified as Daugherty. Upon speaking with Daugherty, the deputy smelled the strong odor of alcohol on his person. During the course of the investigation, Daugherty stated that he struck a telephone pole with his vehicle. Daugherty performed poorly on the field sobriety test and later registered a 0.131g% blood alcohol concentration on the Intoxilyzer 5000 breath test. Daugherty was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Eldridge Jones, 54, 315 ½ St. Charles Street, Lafayette, LA was arrested on January 25, 2014 at 12:23 pm on 4 warrants for Morgan City Police and a warrant for Patterson Police. Warrant charges included failure to appear, probation violations, and simple battery. A deputy conducting a traffic stop on Highway 182 in Baldwin made contact with a passenger in the vehicle identified as Jones who had active warrants for his arrest. Jones was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Jacob Alcina, 26, 710 Kem Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 26, 2014 at 6:25 pm for battery of police officer, resisting a police officer with force or violence, flight from an officer, and on a warrant for theft of goods. A deputy was dispatched to a store in Bayou Vista. The complaint was in reference to a subject, Alcina, who was seen in the store who had previously stolen items from the business in December and was wanted on an active warrant for the theft. The deputy made contact with the Alcina and advised him of the warrant for his arrest. During the arrest, Alcina pushed the deputy and attempted to flee on foot. The deputy, however, apprehended Alcina before he could leave the store. Alcina was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Justin D. Adams, 35, 1417 Canal Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on January 24, 2014 at 4:19 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division went to 1417 Canal Rd. Apt. #4 to locate Adams who held an active warrant for his arrest through drug court. Detectives located Adams inside the residence. Adams was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bond is set at $100,000.
