St.Mary Parish Daily Arrest Report

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 53 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Brandon Coleman, 32, 116 Chennault Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 7, 2013 at 9:01 am on a warrant from Morgan City Police for domestic abuse battery. During a traffic stop on Hwy. 182 in Morgan City the deputylearned that the driver, identified as Coleman, was wanted on the warrant. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department.

Blake Michael Dinger, 19, 330 Neptune Street,Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on January 7, 2013 on a warrant for simple battery. Dinger turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office in Morgan City. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $500 bond.

Andrew G. Frost, 29, 239 Elmira Court, Thibodaux, LA was arrested on January 7, 2013 at 11:39 am for failure to yield to emergency vehicles. A deputy en route with Acadian Ambulance to a medical emergency in Amelia observed a vehicle travel for some distance without pulling over for the ambulance which had activated its lights and sirens. The deputy conducted a traffic stop. Frost was released on a summons to appear in court on April 17, 2013.

Danny Savoie, 35, 1430 Prairie Road Circle, Centerville, LA was arrested on January 7, 2013 at 3:46 pm on a warrant from the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office for failure to register as a convicted sex offender. The detective who manages the sex offender program in St. Mary Parish located Savoie at the residence listed above on the Livingston Parish Sheriff's warrant. Savoie was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Dennis J. Mitchell, 24, 1401 Hickory Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 7, 2013 at 6:26 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of driving under suspension and loud music. The St. Mary Parish Sheriff 's Office received an anonymous tip regarding the whereabouts of Mitchell who was wanted on the warrant. Mitchell was located at a business on Hwy. 90 in Bayou Vista. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. His bond is set at $1500.

Dexter Clements, 26, 2045 River Road #1, Berwick, LA was arrested on January 7, 2013 at 9:50 pm on a warrant from Patterson Police for aggravated battery with medical attention, 4 counts aggravated assault, criminal trespassing, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. A deputy located Clements at a residence in Centerville on the warrant. Clements was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond has been set.

Verelyn Benjamin Cannon, 54, 1017 Ciro Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on January 7, 2013 at 4:15 pm at the SMPSO in Morgan City on warrants for illegal possession of stolen things and theft. The warrants stem from an investigation into several thousand pounds of steel equipment that was stolen from a property located on Hwy. 182 in Amelia. During the course of the investigation the detective identified Cannon as a suspect through surveillance video from a local scrap yard where the steel had been sold. Cannon was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond has been set.

Varice Kevin Richardson, 19, 161 Friendship Alley, Amelia, LA was arrested on January 7, 2013 at 1:07 pm for simple battery of the infirm, simple criminal damage to property, disturbing the peace by using foul language, and threatening a public official. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area responded to a 911 hang up call during which a disturbance could be heard in the background. Upon arrival the deputy observed a subject, later identified as Richardson, cursing while being detained by another subject. During the course of the investigation the deputy learned that Richardson became angry and hit a glass door causing it to break onto a 67 year old female victim. The victim was treated by first responders. Richardson was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. His bond is set at $3,250.
