According to Sheriff Mark A. Hebert during the last 24 hours the Sheriff's Office responded to 42 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Bryan P. Roy II, age 24 of 1512 Cross St #2 Bayou Vista, La was arrested on 5-8-12 at 739pm at a business parking lot in Berwick, One charge was for a Warrant for Failure to appear for Theft Charge, and a new charge for Theft over $500.00. The other charges were during the investigation of a theft of jewelry and other items from his parents' residence. The parents called in a theft complaint. While the deputies were investigating the complaint, a call came in about his location and he was detained. Upon questioning, he was arrested and transported to the parish jail for processing and incarceration. No bond at press time.
James Austin, age 30 of 130 South Clausen road Centerville, La was arrested on 5-8-2012 at 645am on charges of Aggravated Battery to the Infirm and Second degree battery to the infirm. The deputies were dispatched to South Clausen road for a disturbance. Upon their arrival the deputy spoke to one victim, the mother said, James had hit the disabled victim, an adult 70 yrs old, several times. Then, when she confronted James he then threw hot coffee on her. The disabled victim was transported by Acadian ambulance to a local hospital where doctors found several fractures, and he was then transported to a hospital in Baton Rouge, La. James was arrested, transported to the parish jail for processing and incarceration with no bond as of press time.
