According to Sheriff David Naquin during the last 72 hours the Sheriff's Office responded to 99 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Darnell T. Stives 54 yoa of 103 Homestead Lane, Patterson was arrested on 2-5-2010 at 4:49 pm on a warrant for Issuing Worthless Checks. Suspect was located at his residence, placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in court on 5-5-2010.

Cynthia M. Hoffpauir 37 yoa of 909 Third St., Franklin was arrested on 2-5-2010 at 6:33 pm for Careless Operation and DWI 1st Offense. Deputy was advised of a vehicle swerving from lane to lane on Hwy 90 headed east into the Patterson area. Deputy located suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Grout and

Washington St.
in Patterson. Upon Deputy making contact with suspect she was observed to be under the influence of a narcotic. After investigation suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Patterson Police Department where suspect refused to give a urine sample. After investigation suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $ 9000.00 bond and was later released.

Aries D. Keal 26 yoa of 2294 ½ Chitimacha Trail, Charenton was arrested on 2-5-2010 at 9:11 pm for Rail Lamps Required, Battery on a Police Officer and Obstruction of Justice. Deputy was patrolling Hwy 83 in the Baldwin area, when he conducted a traffic stop for a burnt tail light. Upon Deputy making contact with suspect an odor of marijuana was observed on his person. While conducting investigation suspect reached into his pocket and placed an item into his mouth, when Deputy attempted to stop suspect he committed a battery upon Deputy and tuned and began to flee. Deputy gave pursuit with suspect being taken into custody. After investigation suspect was booked into the parish jail on above charges with a $6250.00 bond and was later released.

Elvin Yovani 23 yoa of 2602 Lake Palourde Road Lot # 13, Amelia was arrested on 2-6-2010 at 12:03 am for Unlawful Possession of Fraudulent Documents for Identification. Deputy was called to above location in reference to loud music. Deputy located the loud music and made contact with above suspect. During investigation identification was received from suspect and a check was conducted with it being learned that identification was false. After investigation suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with no bond at this time.

On 2-6-2010 at 2:12 am a Juvenile Male 15 yoa was arrested for Curfew Violation and Possession of Tobacco Product Under the age of 18. Deputy was patrolling the Bayou Vista area, when he was advised by a motorist of a juvenile staggering in the roadway on Middle and

Venus St
. Deputy located juvenile and upon making contact observed alcoholic beverage upon his person. Upon Deputy conducting a pat down of suspect a pack of cigarettes were located on his person. After investigation juvenile was placed under arrest, processed and released to guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

Patricia Lee 58 yoa of 214 Mars Road # 7, Bayou Vista was arrested on 2-6-2010 at 10:12 am on a warrant for Issuing Worthless Checks. Suspect came into the Morgan City Sheriff's Office for a complaint when it was learned of a warrant for her arrest. Suspect was placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in court on 5-5-2010.

Isidro Paredes-Marquez 26 yoa of 115 Odile Lane, Amelia was arrested on 2-6-2010 at 6:57 pm for

Improper Lane
Usage and Driving without Lawful Presence in the United States. Deputy was patrolling
Lake Palourde Road
in Amelia when he observed suspect vehicle make a U-turn in the middle of the Intersection and a traffic stop was conducted. Upon making contact with suspect it was learned through investigation that suspect was driving a vehicle without lawful presence. Suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with no bond at this time.

Cory Chapman 46 yoa of 403 Verdun Lane, Franklin and Brittany Smith 38 yoa of 3522 Hwy 182, Berwick were arrested on 2-6-2010 at 10:57 pm for Simple Battery with Chapman also being charged with Resisting an Officer and Smith also being charged with Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated. Deputy was called to Wal-mart in Bayou Vista in reference a disturbance. Upon Deputy's arrival it was learned that the above suspects were involved in an argument with each committing a battery upon the other. During investigation Chapman attempted to run from Deputy in the store and was physically subdued and taken into custody. After investigation both suspects were booked into the parish jail with Chapman having a $1500.00 bond and Smith having a $750.00 bond both were later released.

Misty D. Cline 23 yoa of 129 Shannon St., Patterson and Sonya Todd 32 yoa of 120 Shannon St., Patterson were arrested on 2-7-2010 at 8:16 pm for Simple Battery. Deputy was called to

129 Shannon St.
in reference to a battery. Upon Deputy's arrival it was learned that the suspects were involved in an argument and they began fighting. After investigation both suspects were placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $500.00 bond at this time.

131 Franklin was arrested on 2-8-2010 at 12:03 am for Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated. Deputy was called to
778 Parish Road
131 in reference to a hit and run accident. Upon Deputy's arrival an investigation was being conducted when above suspect came to residence intoxicated causing a disturbance and causing a disturbance. Suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $250.00 bond at this time.
