According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 36 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Bryson J. Verdin, 23, 204 Kathleen Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 7, 2014 at 12:01 pm on a warrant for aggravated rape and theft (over $5,000). On November 14, 2013, deputies responded to report from a local hospital of a possible rape of a juvenile. During the course of the investigation, deputies determined that Verdin raped a 12 year old girl at a residence in the Patterson area and then took a vehicle without the permission of the owner. A deputy transported Verdin from the Iberia Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on the warrant. No bond is set. A picture of Verdin is included.
Charles Milton, Jr., 312 Seventh Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on January 7, 2014 at 11:59 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana and on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy made contact with Milton during a traffic stop and learned of an active warrant for his arrest. Milton was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bond is set at $1,700. Milton was issued a summons to appear in court on April 28, 2014 on the IWC charges.
