St. Mary Parish Arrest Report

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to complaints and reports the following arrests:

Christine Crane, 43, 854 Parish Road 151, Verdunville, LA was arrested on October 2, 2013 at 11:31 am on a warrant for criminal trespass. A deputy located Crane at her residence on the warrant. She was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Crane was later released on a $1,000 bond.

Gregory Parker, 1522 Bernice Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on October 2, 2013 at 11:53 am on a warrant for domestic abuse battery, simple criminal damage to property, and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. A deputy made contact with Parker on Bowman Street in Morgan City and learned of the warrant for his arrest. The warrants stems from an investigation into the battery of a female victim that began on September 30, 2013. No bond is set.

Christopher Oubre, 153 Highway 182 East, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on October 2, 2013 at 12:46 pm for possession of Schedule I (marijuana).

Danny Blair, II, 19, 107 Landry Lane, Patterson, LA was arrested on October 2, 2013 at 12:48 pm on a warrant for theft.

A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area observed a driver without a seatbelt and conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Saturn and Moon Roads. Upon making contact with the driver, the deputy observed small pieces of marijuana throughout the vehicle. The driver was identified as Oubre. The deputy received consent to search the vehicle and located a leftover piece of a marijuana cigarette commonly referred to as a "roach". Oubre was released on a summons to appear in court on January 10, 2013. He was also ticketed for not wearing a seatbelt.
Blair was a passenger in the vehicle driven by Oubre. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned of the warrant for Blair's arrest. The warrant stems from an investigation into the theft of gold jewelry from a residence in Bayou Vista. Blair was linked to the theft through a local jewelry shop where he attempted to sell the stolen items. Blair was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Alan Bennett, 30, 250 Muaril Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on October 2, 2013 at 4:59 pm on a warrant from Patterson Police for simple battery. A deputy located Bennett on the warrant at his place of employment in Amelia. Bennett was transported to the Patterson Police Department and released into their custody.

Demetrius Green, 24, 629 Egle Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on October 2, 2013 at 5:33 pm for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned from store personnel that Green was observed taking a memory card from the packaging and concealing it on his person. Green then attempted to leave the store without paying for the item. He was released on a summons to appear in court on January 10, 2014.

Rufus Ackman, 44, 479 Hunting Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on October 2, 2013 at 6:50 pm for violation of the parish leash law. A deputy responded to a complaint of a dog that attacked another dog. During the course of the investigation, the deputy determined that Ackman's dog went into a neighboring yard and attacked another dog. Ackman was released on a summons to appear in court on January 10, 2014.

Ashley Jennies, 26, 1511 Ohio Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on October 2, 2013 at 7:37 pm for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that Jennies was seen taking two rings and concealing them in her pocket. Jennies then attempted to leave the store without paying for the items. She was released on a summons to appear in court on January 10, 2014.

Jesse Hart, 21, 405 Blum Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on October 2, 2013 at 7:23 pm on a warrant for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court on the charge of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Hart turned himself in to a deputy at the Morgan City jail. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bond is set at $100,000.

Dustin Pike, 17, 349 Hunting Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on October 2, 2013 at 12:08 am for simple burglary of a vehicle and resisting an officer by giving false information.

Jennifer Hatfield, 46, 358 Hunting Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on October 2, 2013 at 12:08 am for simple burglary of a vehicle and resisting an officer by giving false information.

Deputies responded to a report of a business burglary on Highway 182 in the Franklin area. Upon arrival, a witness provided a description of a vehicle including the license plate number. The witness was also able to provide a direction of travel. Deputies on scene immediately put out an advisory to fellow deputies to be on the lookout for the suspect vehicle. Deputies observed a broken window on a truck near the business. The business owner stated that several items were taken. During the course of the investigation, deputies located the suspect vehicle and identified the two occupants as Pike and Hatfield. The stolen items were later located at a residence on Hunting road. Pike and Hatfield were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Jonathan Anthony Mayea, 28, 1510 Chestnut Drive  Morgan City, LA was arrested on October 2, 2013 at 7:21 pm on the following charges:
Possession of crack cocaine
Aggravated battery on a police officer with a vehicle
Flight from an officer
Littering
Improper lane usage
No turn signal
  Detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division watched a vehicle fail to use a turn signal when turning on to James Street in Siracusaville. Detectives also observed the vehicle cross the center line of the roadway several times. Detectives conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver who was identified as Mayea. When asked to put the vehicle in park, Mayea accelerated, running over a detective's foot. Detectives pursued Mayea to Siracusa Road where he was stopped. Detectives located cocaine inside the vehicle. Mayea was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
