According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 43 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Deondric Butler, 17, 500 H Ninth St. Franklin, LA was arrested on May 8, 2013 at 3:54 pm for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. While patrolling the Patterson area, Detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division made contact with Deondric Butler on Como Street. Detectives located marijuana and a pack of rolling papers that Butler had dropped to the ground. Butler was released on a summons to appear in court on August 23, 2013.
Michael Gonzales, 23, 1206 Clements Lane, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on May 8, 2013 at 6:13 pm for theft. A deputy responded to a complaint of a theft on Clements Lane. The female victim reported her mobile phone as stolen. Following interviews, the deputy determined that the victim's ex-boyfriend, identified as Gonzales, took the mobile phone. The deputy recovered the phone during the investigation. Gonzales was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Joantress Warner, 18, 132 Verdun Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested on May 8, 2013
at 9:49 pm for aggravated assault and criminal mischief. A deputy responded to a 911 call about a fight involving a gun at the address listed above. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Warner who stated that she had called 911. When asked about the gun, Warner told the deputy that she mentioned a gun to get the Sheriff's
Office to respond quickly. Through further investigation, the deputy determined that during a fight between a male and female subject, Warner picked up a baseball bat with the intent of striking the male subject. Warner was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Her bond is set at $1,500.
Marva Loston, 46, 1237 Highway 668 Jeanerette, LA was arrested on May 9, 2013 at 12:20 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and simple battery. A deputy conducting a traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 318 and Highway 90 Frontage Road made contact with a passenger in the vehicle identified as Loston. During the investigation, the deputy learned through a warrants check that Loston was wanted on the active warrants. Loston was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Her bond is set at $1,750.
