According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 38 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Robert Willis, 29, 204 Rifle Range Road Pineville, LA was arrested on March 13, 2013 at 2:07 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of simple rape and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. A deputy located Willis at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin on the warrant. Willis was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Kristen Leah Wiggins, 32, 514 David Road Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on March 13, 2013 at 9:48 pm for hit and run driving and careless operation. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area observed a parked car at the residence listed above that matched the description of a vehicle involved in a hit and run incident which occurred on March 10, 2013 on Lagonda Road in Bayou Vista. Using pieces of the vehicle left behind at the site of the hit and run accident, the deputy identified the parked vehicle as the car belonging to the driver that left the scene. Upon further investigation, the deputy identified Wiggins as the driver. Wiggins was issued a summons to appear in court on June 12, 2013.
Nicholas Walter Grimmett, 32, 134 South Verret Street Amelia, LA was arrested on March 14, 2013 at 1:04 am for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responded to a complaint of domestic abuse at a residence on South Verret Street. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with an 18 year old pregnant female victim. Through the course of the investigation the deputy learned that Grimmett and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical encounter when Grimmett grabbed her by the throat. The victim fled from the residence to a neighbor's home and contacted the SMPSO. Grimmett was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Dale Paul Olivier, 20, 210 Jeff Drive Bourg, LA was arrested on March 13, 2013 at 6:43 pm for possession of synthetic cannabinoids 2nd offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, abuse of toxic vapors, violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone), and failure to signal. Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division observed the driver of a vehicle fail to activate a blinker before turning into the Bayou Vista Skate Park parking lot. Detectives conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver who was identified as Olivier. During the investigation, detectives received consent to search the vehicle and located synthetic cannabinoids and drug paraphernalia. Olivier was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
