According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 37 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Santana Marguis Dore, 19, 1420 Iberia Street, New Iberia, LA was arrested on February 28, 2013 at 7:40 pm for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at Walmart in Bayou Vista, LA. Upon arrival the deputy learned from store security that 4 subjects were observed placing items into a plastic shopping bag. Upon confronting the subjects, two of them began screaming obscenities at security personnel. One of the subjects, identified as Dore, attempted to leave the store but was stopped at an exit door after one of the items containing an anti-theft device set off an alarm. Dore was released on a summons to appear in court on May 21, 2013.
Elizabeth M. Chauvin, 22, 223 Genevieve Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on February 28, 2013 at 8:11 pm on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Chauvin on Genevieve Street on the warrant. She was released on a summons to appear in court on May 21, 2013.
William James Mora, 21, 724 Prairie Road North, Franklin, LA was arrested on February 28, 2013 at 10:51 pm for reckless operation of a vehicle, simple criminal damage to property, and criminal trespass. A deputy responded to a complaint of a reckless driver in the Grey Eagle Road #1 area. A vehicle matching the complainants description was located traveling at a high rate of speed on Sanaren Street. The suspect vehicle was observed crossing into the deputy's lane of traffic nearly colliding with the marked unit. The SMPSO received a second complaint of a vehicle driving through a residents yard on Highway 87. A short time later the suspect vehicle was located on Jena Street. Mora was identified as the driver of the vehicle. Following an investigation Mora was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. His bond is set at $2,500.
Kerrie Lynne Lacombe, 20, 433 Grout Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on February 28, 2013 at 11:59 pm for improper lane usage and possession of Schedule I (marijuana). A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed a vehicle cross the center line and enter into the opposite lane of traffic on Highway 182. The deputy conducted a traffic stop. During the investigation Lacombe was found to be in possession of marijuana. She was released on a summons to appear in court on May 21, 2013.
Larry James Turner, 40, 1508 Live Oak Street Lot #1, Patterson, LA was arrested on March 1, 2013 at 2:01 am for criminal trespass. A deputy responded to Foxglove Road in Patterson in reference to a complaint of a trespasser. Upon arrival the complainants stated that a subject was in their back yard looking through the windows of the home. The complainants identified the subject as Turner. Turner was located and following an investigation transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $500 bond.
Spencer Hamilton, 24, 1715 Guyther Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on February 28, 2013 at 10:28 pm for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at the address listed above. During the course of the investigation detectives located marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia in the residence. Hamilton was placed under arrest and released on a summons.
