According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 51 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Garcia Arturo, III, 31, 10677 Highway 90, Amelia, LA was arrested on February 19, 2013 at 12:02 pm on a warrants for failure to appear on the charges of theft, operating a vehicle while intoxicated 2nd offense, and operating a vehicle without a driver's license and on a warrant from Morgan City Police for failure to appear on the charges of driving under suspension. A deputy received information that Arturo was at the parish courthouse in Franklin. Arturo was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Joshua Williams, 30, 158 Eves Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on February 19, 2013 at 10:30 pm on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy investigating a complaint made contact with Williams. A warrants check was conducted. Williams was released on a summons to appear in court on May 21, 2013.
Jacoby Jermaine Hamilton, 30, 127 Martin Street, Lafayette, LA was arrested on February 20, 2013 at 4:49 am for driving while intoxicated, careless operation, open container, and driving under suspension. A deputy responded to a complaint of a single vehicle crash on LA 319 at LA 83. Upon arrival the deputy observed a vehicle in a ditch. The deputy made contact with the driver who was identified as Hamilton. While speaking with Hamilton the deputy detected the strong odor of alcohol on his breath and person. The deputy conducted a field sobriety test on which Hamilton performed poorly. Hamilton later refused to submit to a breath test. Also during the course of the investigation the deputy located open bottles of vodka in the vehicle. Hamilton was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Tommy Earl Lishman, 43, 229 Brule Road, Thibodaux, LA was arrested on February 19, 2013 at 2:27 pm for possession of synthetic cannabinoids, possession of drug paraphernalia, and abuse of toxic vapors. Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division conducted an investigation at Conrad Deepwater in Amelia. Detectives located synthetic cannabinoids and items of drug paraphernalia. Lishman was released on a summons to appear in court on May 21, 2013.
