St. Mary Parish Arrest Report

According to Sheriff Mark Hebert during the last 72 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to complaints and reports the following arrests:

Jaime Ortiz, 26, 821 Cypress Street, Amelia, LA was arrested on November 2, 2012 at 9:08 pm for driving while intoxicated, careless operation, and operating a vehicle without lawful presence in the United States. A deputy responding to a complaint of a reckless driver on Lake Palourde Road in Amelia. The deputy learned from witnesses that while driving a vehicle Ortiz was swerving and nearly backed into a fence. Upon coming into with Ortiz the deputy observed the odor of alcohol on his breath and person. Ortiz performed poorly on the field sobriety test. He registered a .231g% on the Intoxilyzor 5000. Ortiz was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond has been set.

Brent M. Rock, Jr., 22, 723 Arlington Rd. #4, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on November 3, 2012 at 3:23 pm for theft and simple battery at Walmart in Bayou Vista. A deputy responding to a complaint of a shoplifter learned from store security that Rock was observed taking merchandise and leaving the store. Upon being confronted by store security Rock pushed the employee and fled on foot. A short time later Rock returned to the store and turned himself in to store security. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released after posting $1500 bond.

Angie Gayle Lafleur, 32, 113 Honey Lane, Bayou L'Ourse, LA was arrested on November 4, 2012 at 2:15 am on Highway 182 at Frontage Road in Amelia on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. The deputy made contact with a passenger in the vehicle and during the course of the investigation learned that she was wanted on the warrant. Lafleur was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. She was released after posting $5000 bond.

Juvenile male, 16, was arrested on November 4, 2012 at 4:57 pm at Walmart in Bayou Vista for theft. A deputy responding to a complaint of a shoplifter learned from store security that the juvenile was observed consuming items from the deli area of the store. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

Alanna Thompson, 32, 1041 Shaw Drive Apt. #3, Morgan City, LA was arrested on November 4, 2012 at 4:34 pm at Walmart in Bayou Vista for theft. While investigating a separate complaint at the store a deputy was informed of a shoplifting complaint. The deputy learned from store security that Thompson was observed placing items in her purse. Thompson then attempted to leave the store without paying for the merchandise valued at $90.87. Thompson was released on a summons to appear in court on February 27, 2013.

Brandon Leigh Bowyer, 32, 2212121 Kendreck Lane, Robertsdale, AL was arrested on November 5, 2012 at 2:18 am at 8700 Highway 182, Morgan City, LA for disturbing the peace intoxicated and simple battery.

Ryan Winter, 21, 101 Glouchester Row Apt. #31 Lafayette, LA was arrested on November 5, 2012 at 2:18 am at 8700 Highway 182, Morgan City, LA for disturbing the peace intoxicated and simple battery.

A deputy responded to a complaint at a lounge. Upon arrival the deputy learned that one of two subjects had fled on foot. The other subject, identified as Bowyer, was located. During the course of the investigation the deputy learned that Bowyer and Winter had been involved in a physical altercation. Winter was located a short time later. Both were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bond for each of the suspects is set at $750.
