According to Sheriff Mark Hebert during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 46 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Martha Ashley, 56, 203 Elm Street, Centerville, LA was arrested on October 25, 2012 at 11:57 am for violation of the parish leash law. A deputy responded to a complaint of a dog bite at Franklin Foundation Hospital. Upon arrival the deputy learned that the female victim had been bitten on her hand and legs by a dog in the neighborhood while she was tending to her garden. Ashley was located at her home and following the investigation issued a summons to appear in court on January 16, 2013. The dog was collected by animal control for the standard 10 day observation period.
Gabrieo Boulanger, 23, 102 Moss Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on October 25, 2012 at 2:50 pm at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for unlawful internet based social networking account by an inmate. A deputy received information indicating that an inmate at the SMPLEC was posting pictures on Facebook. The dates of the posts coincide with Boulanger's incarceration. No bond has been set. The law by which Boulanger is charged was enacted in 2011 and states that, "it shall be unlawful for any offender who is incarcerated and who is sentenced to the legal custody of the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections to establish or maintain an account on any Internet-based, social networking website."
Youlanda J. Rubbins, 33, 19845 Hwy. 182, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on October 25, 2012 at 8:28 pm at the residence listed above on a warrant for 2 counts of issuing worthless checks. A deputy investigating a separate complaint came into contact with Rubbins and learned of the warrant for her arrest. She was released on a summons to appear in court on January 16, 2012.
Tyler Emmanuel Brewer, 511 Bertrand Drive Apt. 2314, Lafayette, LA was arrested on October 26, 2012 at 12:15 am on U.S. Highway 90 in Bayou Vista, LA for failure to signal and possession of alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area observed a vehicle fail to signal a turn and conducted a traffic stop. Upon coming into contact with Brewer the deputy observed the odor of alcohol on his breath and person. Brewer performed poorly on the field sobriety test. During the course of the investigation the deputy received consent to search the vehicle and located two partially consumed alcoholic beverages. Brewer was transported to the Berwick Police Department for a breath test. He registered a 000g% on the Intoxilyzer 5000. Brewer was released on a summons to appear in court on January 16, 2013.
Nicholas Joseph Billiot, 29, 300 Franklin Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on October 26, 2012 at 2:00 am on Hwy. 182 in Morgan City for driving while intoxicated, hit and run driving, and reckless operation. A deputy investigating a complaint of a hit and run in the parking lot of a club in Amelia identified the suspect vehicle through surveillance footage and located the vehicle parked at a restaurant in Morgan City. Upon coming into contact with the driver of the vehicle the deputy observed the odor of alcohol on his breath and person. Billiot performed poorly on the field sobriety test and registered a .216g% on the Intoxilyzer 5000. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond has been set.
Blake Michael Dinger, 19, 330 Neptune Street, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on October 26, 2012 at 5:05 am on Southeast Blvd. in Bayou Vista
for driving while intoxicated, careless operation, and driving under suspension. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area observed a vehicle
swerve onto the shoulder of the roadway multiple times nearly hitting a garbage can and mailboxes. The deputy conducted a traffic stop. Upon
coming into contact with the driver, identified as Dinger, the deputy observed that Dinger's speech was slurred and that he was swaying
where he stood. The deputy also smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person. Dinger performed poorly on the field sobriety test
and registered a .138g% BAC on the Intoxilyzor 5000. Dinger was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond has
been set.
