According to Sheriff Mark Hebert during the last 72 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 106 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Earline Ann Sam, 31, 127 Poncio St. Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 14, 2012 at 9:29 am on two warrants for failure to appear for issuing worthless checks. Sam was located at her residence on the warrants. She was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond had been set at the time of the press release.
Robert Taylor, 28, 210 Mars Rd. Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on September 14, 2012 at 3:01 pm at 908 Hwy. 182 in Bayou Vista for theft. A deputy responded to a complaint of theft at a business in Amelia, LA. The victim told the deputy that his backpack and cell phone were stolen from the break room. During the course of the investigation the deputy developed Taylor, a Tom's Chip employee, as a suspect. The deputy received consent to search the delivery truck Taylor was driving and located the backpack and cell phone. Taylor was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond had been set at the time of the press release.
Juvenile male, 15 was arrested on September 14, 2012 at 3:09 pm at Patterson High School for obscenity. A deputy responded to the complaint at the school. Upon arrival the deputy learned that the juvenile exposed his penis in a classroom in the presence of a female teacher. The juvenile was transported to the SMPSO in Morgan City for booking and was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Kenneth Frank Smith, 53, 1401 Pine St. Franklin, LA was arrested on September 15, 2012 at 10:02 am at the Amelia Recreation Center in Amelia, LA for disturbing the peace intoxicated and remaining where forbidden. While providing security at the recreation center for the disaster food stamp assistance program a deputy was contacted by one of the workers. The worker stated that Smith refused to leave. Upon coming into contact with Smith the deputy smelled the strong odor of alcohol on his breath and person. Smith was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. His bond is set at $750.
Kashonda Verrett, 35, 3203 Hwy. 87 Franklin, LA was arrested on September 15, 2012 at 9:58 am on four warrants for issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Verrett at her residence on the warrants. She was released on a summons to appear in court on December 12, 2012.
Rosemary Brasseaux, 77, 1102 Lee Charles St. Franklin, LA was arrested on September 15, 2012 at 10:35 am on three warrants for issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Brasseaux at her residence on the warrants. She was released on a summons to appear in court on December 12, 2012.
Betty Boatman, 45, 1222 Weber St. Franklin, LA was arrested on September 15, 2012 at 2:58 pm on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Boatman at her residence on the warrants. She was released on a summons to appear in court on December 12, 2012.
Willie Stansbury, 45, 2012 302 Prairie Rd. North Franklin, LA was arrested on September 15, 2012 on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Stansbury at his residence on the warrant. He was released on a summons to appear in court on December 12, 2012.
Severino Ruiz-Rodriguez, 40, 111 Bailey Lane Amelia, LA was arrested on September 15, 2012 at 9:45 pm for operating a vehicle without lawful presence in the United States, careless operation of a motor vehicle, and possession of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle. A deputy responded to Lake Palourde Rd. in Amelia in reference to a vehicle crash. Upon arrival the deputy observed a pick up truck in the ditch across from Odile Lane. The deputy identified Rodriguez as the driver of the vehicle. During the course of the investigation beer cans were located inside the truck. Rodriguez was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond had been set at the time of the press release.
Jeremy White, 37, 607 Saint John St. Franklin, LA was arrested on September 15, 2012 at 9:45 pm on Iberia St. in Franklin for driving under suspension. A deputy responded to a complaint of a single vehicle crash on Iberia St. at Chatsworth Rd. in Franklin. During an investigation of the crash the deputy learned that White, the driver of the vehicle, had a suspended driver's license. White was released on a summons to appear in court on October 29, 2012.
Gerald Price Jr., 42, 515 General McArthur St. Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 16, 2012 at 11:56 pm on Everett St. in Morgan City on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Price on the warrant. He was released on a summons to appear in court on December 12, 2012.
Therese Daigle, 64, 635 Egle St. #4 Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 16, 2012 at 6:34 pm at Walmart in Bayou Vista, LA for theft. A deputy responded to a complaint of a shoplifter. Upon arrival the deputy learned from store security that Daigle was observed taking items from the shelves and placing them in bags with merchandise that had already been paid for. She was released on a summons to appear in court on December 12, 2012.
