St. Mary Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force Arrests

The St. Mary Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force, consisting of St. Mary Sheriff Dept., Morgan City Police Dept., Patterson Police Department Franklin Police Dept., Baldwin Police Dept., Berwick Police Dept., and Chitimacha Police Dept., report the following arrests:

Jesse Edmond age 22 of 618 J. A. Hernandez St. Franklin, La. was arrested on November 16, 2009 at 5:45 pm at J. A. Hernandez St. Franklin, La. and charged with
Poss. Of Marijuana W/I/T/D, Poss. Of Cocaine, Poss. Of Drug Paraphernalia, and Poss. Of a CDS in the Presence of a Juvenile. Agents of the Narcotics Task Force executed a Search Warrant at 618 J. A. Hernandez St. in Franklin, La. Upon agents arrival at the residence, Agents located several subjects at the residence including juveniles as well as three male subjects While checking one of the subjects who was later identified as Jesse Edmond, deputy located a small bag containing suspected Marijuana on Edmond. Edmond was then placed under arrest and transported to LEC for booking.

Travis Walter age 26, of 618 J.A. Hernandez was arrested on November 16, 2009 at 545pm and charged with Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to distribute and Possession of controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile During the investigation Agents then found crack cocaine that lead to Travis' arrest. At that time Mr. Walter was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for processing. This was in connection with the above search warrant.

James DiNicola James DiNicola age 18 of 124 Field St. Bayou Vista, La. was arrested on November 16, 2009. At 1032pm on charges of Poss. Of Marijuana and Poss. Of Drug Paraphernalia The Narcotics Task Force received a call of suspicious activity coming from the back yard to that residence and there are several subjects in the back yard partying. Upon Agents arrival at 124 Field St., Agt. immediately detected a strong odor of burnt Marijuana coming from the rear of the residence. Agents then proceeded to the rear of the residence and made contact with James DiNicola who resides at the residence. Agents then went inside with Dinicola where he made contact with the owner of the residence, and advised both subjects of the complaint. During the investigation consent was given and small amount of evidence discovered. DiNicola was then placed under arrest and released on a summons.


Richard Batiste age 24, 1426 Live Oak St. Patterson, LA. was arrested on 11/16/2009 at10:32 PM near Field St. Morgan City ,LA on charges of Possession of Marijuana with Intention to Distribute, Resisting an Officer and Obstruction of Justice. This arrest stems from the investigation at 124 Field Street, Bayou Vista, La. Upon agent's arrival, they observed several subjects partying in the back yard of 124 Field St. and upon agents approaching the subjects they observed a male subject later identified as, Richard Batiste, run from the back of the residence. And observed Richard throw an unknown object near a bar b q pit behind a house on Southwest street. Deputies recovered a cellophane bag containing Marijuana and placed Richard under arrest. He was then transported to parish jail for processing and incarceration.
