St. Mary Drug Task Force Report: Feb. 25, 2010

The St. Mary Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force, consisting of St. Mary Sheriff Dept., Morgan City Police Dept., Franklin Police Dept., Baldwin Police Dept.., Berwick Police Dept., and Chitimacha Police Dept.. report the following arrests:

 

Dwayne C. Francis 21 yoa of Egle St., Morgan City was arrested on 2-24-2010 at 5:42 pm for Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute. Agents of the Narcotics Task Force were patrolling the Morgan City area, when they observed suspect vehicle fail to use signal on Ninth and Duke St.and conducted a traffic stop. During investigation Agents received consent to search vehicle and located a large amount of marijuana in the center console of vehicle. After investigation suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with no bond at this time.

 

Corey Tarver 31 yoa of Charlotte St., Patterson was arrested on 2-24-2010 at 6:21 pm for Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Loritab with Intent to Distribute, Resisting an Officer and obstruction of Justice. Agents of the Narcotics Task Force were patrolling the Morgan City area, when they observed a vehicle parked facing the opposite direction, blocking one lane of traffic on Egle St., speaking with two subjects. Agents conducted a traffic stop when one of the suspects fled on foot with Agents giving chase and observed suspect throw an item behind a vehicle parked. Suspect was apprehended and item was retrieved. Agent located a pack of cigarettes containing 18 Loritab's. During a search of suspect's person a small amount of marijuana was also located on his person. Suspect was placed under arrest on above charges and booked into the parish jail with no bond at this time.

 

Michelle R. Ashley 40 yoa of Calumet Cut Lane, Franklin was arrested on 2-24-2010 at 9:15 pm for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Agents of the Narcotics Task Force were patrolling the Berwick area, when they observed suspect vehicle fail to use signal and conducted a traffic stop on Sixth St... During investigation suspect a passenger in the vehicle was observed placing something in her jacket. Agents conducted a pat down of suspect and retrieved drug paraphernalia. After investigation suspect was placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in court on 5-5-2010.
