The St. Mary Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force, consisting of St. Mary Sheriff Dept., Morgan City Police Dept., Franklin Police Dept., Baldwin Police Dept.., Berwick Police Dept., and Chitimacha Police Dept.. report the following arrests:
Henry Madison III 28 yoa of 221 Cedar St., Franklin was arrested on 2-17-2012 at 12:17 pm for Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute and Obstruction of Justice. Agents of the Narcotics Task Force were patrolling
Third St.
in Franklin, when the observed suspect riding a bike in the middle of roadway. Agents was attempted to stop suspect when he was observed throwing a plastic bag to the ground. Agents made contact with suspect and retrieved bag which contained crack cocaine. After investigation suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with no bond at this time.
Laquan Bowie 29 yoa of 405 Hansen St., Franklin and Brandon R. Brown 30 yoa of 296 Easy St., Franklin were arrested on 2-17-2012 at 1:33 pm for Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana, Obstruction of Justice and Violation of CDS Law Drug Free Zone with Bowie also being charged with Stop Sign Violation, Expired Inspection Sticker, Failure to Signal Turn and Driving Under Suspension. Agents of the Narcotics Task Force were patrolling the St. Joseph area, when they observed suspect vehicle with an expired inspection sticker and vehicle fail to signal a turn and traveling through the stop sign. Agents conducted a traffic stop and observed a plastic bag being thrown out of the window. Agents recovered the plastic bag that contained crack cocaine and marijuana by a public playground. Agents also seized $410.00 in U.S. Currency. After investigation suspects were placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with Bowie having an $8000.00 bond and Brown having an $11,500.00 bond both were later released.
