According to Sheriff Mark Hebert during the last 72 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 128 complaints and reports the following arrests:


Judy B. Breaux, 58, 234 Canton St, Berwick, LA was arrested on July 27, 2012 at 5:11pm at the address above for hit and run and driving under suspension. While en route to a complaint of a vehicle crash the responding deputy learned that the driver who caused the crash left the scene. The complainant followed the driver to the residence listed above. When the deputy arrived an investigation revealed that Breaux was driving under suspension. Breaux was released on a summons to appear in court on October 4, 2012.

Philippian N. Lewis, 24, 300 Southeast Blvd. Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on July 27, 2012 at 2:23pm at the address above on a warrant for issuing worthless checks from Iberia Parish. A deputy was patrolling the Bayou Vista area when he responded to a complaint at the listed address. During the investigation the deputy learned of the warrant for Lewis' arrest. He was released on a summons to appear in court on September 24, 2012.

Humberto Almanza-Gonzalez, 39, 6500 Chimney Rock Rd, Houston, TX, was arrested on July 27, 2012 at 10:19pm on Hwy. 90 in Ricohoc, LA for improper lane usage and operating a vehicle without lawful presence in the United States. Responding to a complaint of a reckless driver a deputy patrolling the Sorrel area observed a vehicle cross the white line on several occasions. During a traffic stop the deputy learned that Gonzalez was in the United States illegally. Gonzalez was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond was set at the time of the press release.

Charles J. Ganaway, 24, 813 South Everett St, Morgan City, LA was arrested on July 28, 2012 at 10:46 am on Hwy. 90 in Bayou Vista on a warrant for failure to appear. A deputy investigating a vehicle crash learned of the warrant for Ganaway's arrest. Ganaway was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. His bond is set at $10,000.

Two 14 year old juvenile females both from Patterson, LA were arrested on July 28, 2012 at 6:30pm for unauthorized use of a movable and no drivers license. A deputy received a call in reference to a juvenile driving a vehicle without permission. The deputy located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Hwy. 90 in Bayou Vista, LA. During the investigation the deputy learned that the two juvenile females had driven the vehicle without permission. Both juveniles were released to their parents pending juvenile court proceedings.

Duana M. Billiot, 32, 1626 Chitimacha Trail, Baldwin, LA was arrested on July 29, 2012 at 3:00am on Hwy. 182 in Franklin, LA for careless operation of a motor vehicle with a crash. While assisting with a traffic stop a deputy observed a vehicle run off of Hwy. 182 and into a field. The deputy responded and through the course of the investigation learned that the vehicle also crashed through a fence. Billiot, the driver, was released on a summons to appear in court on October 4, 2012.

Sidney T. Couvillier Sr, 45, 1018 West Third St, Franklin, LA was arrested on July 29, 2012 at 2:51 am on Genevieve St. near Hwy 182 in Baldwin, LA for stop sign violation, improper lane usage, careless operation of a motor vehicle, threatening a public official, and driving while intoxicated. While assisting with a traffic stop a deputy observed a vehicle drive through an intersection without stopping at the stop sign. The deputy also observed the vehicle swerving. A traffic stop was conducted. Upon coming into contact with the driver the deputy smelled the odor of alcohol on his person. Couvillier performed poorly on the field sobriety test. He later registered a 0.278% on the Intoxilyzer 5000 breathe test. Couvillier was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond was set at the time of the press release.

Jospeph D. Zone, 30, Bayou Sale RV Park Hwy. 317, Centerville, LA was arrested on July 29, 2012 at 8:35 am at the address above on a warrant from Avoylles Parish for failure to register as a sex offender. Responding to a complaint of a suspicious person the deputy responded to the address listed above. During the investigation the deputy learned of a warrant for Zone's arrest. Zone was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. His bond is set at $25,000.

Carlos Morales, 36, 176 Willow Church Rd, Seminar, MS was arrested on July 29, 2012 at 1:57pm for unlawful possession of fraudulent documents. A deputy responded to a call to remove a subject who had passed out in a vehicle in the parking lot of the Amelia Belle Casino. During the course of the investigation Morales was found to be in possession of a fake ID and Social Security Card. Morales was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond was set at the time of the press release.

Manuel Francois, 29, 3300 Rollingbrook Dr, Baytown, TX was arrested on July 29, 2012 at 4:57pm on warrants for failure to appear and issuing worthless checks. A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance on Palmer Ln. in Franklin, LA. During the investigation the deputy learned of the warrants for the suspects arrest. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Francois was released in a $1500 bond.

Lucio Martinez, 37, 1409 South St, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on July 29, 2012 at 5:19pm on Southeast Blvd. in Bayou Vista for expired inspection sticker, unlawful possession of fraudulent documents, and operating a vehicle without lawful presence in the United States. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker. During the investigation the deputy learned that Martinez possessed a fake ID. Martinez was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond was set at the time of the press release.

Gregory Bergeron, 29, 625 Ave. G, Marrerro, LA was arrested on July 30, 2012 at 4:46am on Hwy. 90 near the Garden City Exit for failure to signal and driving under suspension. While travelling Hwy. 90 a deputy observed a vehicle fail to signal a lane change. During the subsequent traffic stop the deputy learned that Bergeron was driving with a suspended driver's license. Bergeron was released on a summons to appear in court on October 4, 2012.
