St. Martinville man arrested in death of Catahoula man

(St. Martinville, La.)- Shortly after 5:00 a.m. this morning, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office received a call regarding an alleged motorcycle crash off of Main Hwy., in St. Martinville, La. St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Deputies and State Police responded to the scene and upon initial investigation, it became apparent that there was in fact no crash. Authorities located a male subject, Rule Boutte, with obvious injuries who was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He was questioned by St. Martin Parish Officials whereby he admitted that he was involved in a fistic encounter with another male subject. That subject, later identified as Warren Olivier, 59, Catahoula, died shortly after arrival at the hospital.


The suspect has been identified as Rule Boutte, 35, St. Martinville. He was charged with Manslaughter and was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.

There is no further information available at this time and the incident remains under investigation.
