ST. MARTINVILLE, La.- On December 31, 2012, St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Deputies responded to the Wilderness Campground, located on Atchafalaya River Highway in St. Martin Parish in reference to reports of thefts from some of the patrons at the campground. According to authorities, deputies were able to recover one Yeti ice chests, one K-2 ice chest, and one pair of SS golf cart rims.
Arrested and charged for these thefts were Matthew Latiolais, 17, St. Martinville, Dakota Robicheaux, 17, St. Martinville, and Logan Douet 17, Breaux Bridge.
Authorites say a further investigation revealed that Scotty Gaudin 18, of St. Martinville, was also present during the incident at Wilderness Campground and was charged as listed below.
Investigators also discovered that the same three suspects along with Bryce Vann, 17, of St. Martinville, and Scotty Gaudin, 18, of St. Martinville stole a golf cart from another local business. Latiolais, Robicheaux, and Douet, were charged and arrested in connection with the theft of the golf cart. Investigators also arrested Bryce Vann for the theft and a warrant was issued for Scotty Gaudin.
Upon completion of the investigation, Investigators were able to close nine cases in St. Martin Parish. All the property that was recovered as a result of this investigation has been returned to their rightful owners. The following four suspects were arrested and booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the following charges:
Logan Douet--Breaux Bridge-2 counts of theft over 1500.00, Criminal damage to property over 1500.00
Dakota Robicheaux--St. Martinville-2 counts of theft over 1500.00, Criminal damage to property over 1500.00
Matthew Latiolais-St. Martinville-2 counts of theft over 1500.00
Bryce Vann--St. Martinville-1 count of theft over 1500.00
Scotty Gaudin- 18-St. Martinville, 2 counts of theft over 1500.00 (Arrest Pending)
