St. Landry Sheriff's Office track and field winner

Detective Anthony Roberts III recently competed in track and field events at the United States Police and Fire Champions held in San Diego, California. Detective Roberts ran the 100 meter hurdles, 400 meter inter-hurdles, 400 meter relay and 1600 meter relay. He took home 2 gold medals in the hurdles and 2 gold medals in the relay events. This event was made up of deputy sheriffs, police officers, and fire fighters from around the United States.

Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz said, "Detective Roberts is not only a well trained athlete, but he is a tremendous asset to the Criminal Investigations Division as well."

Detective Roberts plans to compete in the 2013 World Police and Fire games in Belfast, Ireland in August 2013.
