St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Department will be conducting an Impaired Driver Checkpoint in St. Landry Parish on Saturday, February 27, 2010 between the hours of 9 PM and 2 AM.

The Sheriff's Department will be assisted by other agencies at the Checkpoint.

The purpose of the checkpoint is to target impaired drivers under the influence of alcohol or any other dangerous substances. Officers will respond with zero-tolerance to drivers found operating while intoxicated.

As we move into this Lenten season, Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz reminds motorists that if they drive, buckle up, or if they drink, have a designated driver or call a friend. Do not become an impaired driver.
