St. Landry Parish Government wants to fix the roads in the parish but they need the funds to do it.
Right now they're looking for public input. A meeting will be held tonight at Plaisance Elementary school at 7p.m.
During the meeting they'll discuss a rural road improvement program which would be funded by a two cent sales tax collected only in the unincorporated areas of St. Landry Parish. Money would only be used for overlaying roads and related drainage issues. Any new tax would require voter approval. The meeting will be in the cafeteria.
