St. Landry Bicycle Accident Fatal

In St. Landry Parish, a fatal crash happens on Interstate 49 frontage road. A bicycle was being riden close to the center line along side of another bicycle on the Interstate 49 frontage road. That is when a pick up truck was southbound on the frontage road approaching the bicycles from the rear. The pick up truck struck the bicycle closest to the center line. The bicyclist was thrown from the bicycle and came to rest in the northbound lane. The second bicyclist was not struck nor injured. The driver of the truck was not injured. Alcohol is not thought to be a factor in this crash. This investigation remains open.
