NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries has accused a 66-year-old St. James man of illegally buying nearly 1,900 fish and some venison, and illegally selling more than 1,000 fish and some of the venison.
Enforcement spokesman Adam Einck says Roy Folse faces 55 counts alleging violations in Ascension, Iberville, St. James and St. John parishes between March 2010 and January 2012. He was booked Tuesday on 31 counts in St. James Parish.
Einck says he doesn't know whether Folse has an attorney or whether bond has been set.
He says undercover agents have been investigating Folse since 2007.
Einck says many times, Folse allegedly sold fish as soon as he'd bought them.
He says citations against some of the biggest customers "should be coming shortly."
