Ascension Parish deputies have arrested a 38-year-old man for allegedly dealing prescription pills out of a church parking lot.
Narcotics detectives say they started looking into anonymous tips that drugs were being sold at a church in the St. Amant area on May 16.
Four days later, Maj. Kevin Hanna tells The Advocate detectives stopped a vehicle driven by Mikel Arnold, of Denham Springs.
Hanna said deputies found Arnold in possession of Fentanyl and Meloxicam. His passenger, 51-year-old Audie Decoteau, was found in possession of a large quantity of Percocet pills.
Decoteau was booked Monday on counts of Fentanyl distribution, Percocet possession and probation violation.
Arnold was booked on counts of possession of Fentanyl and Meloxicam.
It was unclear if those arrested have attorneys.
