Spring brings 2 degree records for Nicholls St.

THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - Recent spring commencement exercises at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux marked the breaking of two school records.
University registrar Kelly Rodrigue says the total of 599 degrees awarded was a record for a spring commencement. And it resulted in the most graduates in an academic year.
Rodrigue says the 2011-2012 year resulted in 1,263 degrees, a 23 percent increase over a record set in 2009-2010.
Nicholls' spring commencement took place May 12.
