The Southern Soul Food Showdown is being held by the Grand Marais Mardi Gras Association! It takes place at Mon Ami on Saturday, October 20, 2012. The fun starts early that morning and last all day ending at 5:00 pm. Southern Soul Food Showdown is a cook-off with teams competing for Best Fried, Best Greens, Best Meat, Rice & Gravy, and Best Pork Delicacy and also an Open Dish Category. Music by Geno Delafose 11am-2pm, DJ 2pm-5pm.
