Lafayette, LA - Southern Screen Film Festival will be screening Zack Godshall's new documentary short film, "A Man Without Words" on Thursday, March 7th at 7 p.m. at The Feed & Seed.
This film re-tells the non-fiction account of Susan Schaller's encounter with Ildefonso, a languageless deaf man to whom she introduced language some thirty years ago. The film brings Ildefonso and Susan back to the classroom where they met, where he learned that he and everything has a name, and she learned what it is to be human. The entire film is subtitled in English.
Susan Schaller, a writer, teacher, and interpreter, is the author of the book, A Man Without Words, and she will be in attendance of the screening to discuss her new book and the film. The filmmaker, Zack Godshall will also be in attendance to discuss the film after the screening.
The event is free, but donations are welcomed. This screening will be hosted by The Feed & Seed, which is located at 106 N. Grant Street, Lafayette.
