Southeastern offers courses on writing novels

MANDEVILLE, La. (AP) - Southeastern Louisiana University is offering two five-week, non-credit courses on novel writing at its St. Tammany Center in Mandeville.

Taught by author Robin Wells, the first course will cover basics of fiction writing, including story structure, plotting, character development, dialogue, description and point of view. The class will be held Tuesday nights from Sept. 2-Sept. 30 from 7 p.m.-8:15 p.m.

The second course is a follow-up for those who already completed an earlier course in the basics and is designed to help writers implement the learned techniques. It will begin Sept. 3 and be held on five consecutive Wednesdays from 7 p.m.-8:15 p.m.

Cost for each course is $150.
