Some Vermilion Parish voters will have the chance Saturday to decide if they need to continue funding work to clear drainage areas in the parish.
Vermilion Parish voters in the 7th Ward, Gravity Drainage District No. 2, will vote on whether or not to renew a 10-year, 19.26-mill property tax, generating an estimated $700,000 a year, to improve and maintain drainage works.
Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
Gravity Drainage District 2 includes Intracoastal City, Esther and Perry, along with part of La. Hwy. 14 near Nunez. Only residents who are registered to vote inside the district will be eligible to vote on this issue.
