Residents are slowly making their way back to Butte La Rose, but some are having to bare the heat because their electricity has been shut-off.

Not everyone's power was turned-off. Energy officials visited all the homes in the area and turned off the power to the homes who were most at risk for flooding.

Before power can be turned back on residents must first call the St. Martin Parish Office of Zoning and Permitting at (337) 394-3097.

Officials say you don't need any additional paperwork, you just need to call their office and they will start the process, but it could take a few days before it is turned on again.

Once the permit is granted officials will have to visit each individual home to make sure no water got inside.
