NEW ORLEANS (AP) Louisiana's job picture improved for the second straight month in February, but still lagged behind what it was a year ago.
The Louisiana Workforce Commission reported Friday that non-seasonally adjusted non-farm employment for Louisiana was estimated at 1,882,200 for February. That's an increase of 13,000 for the month, while over the year, employment fell by 35,700.
Goods-producing employment increased by 4,000 from January, while service-providing employment gained 9,000 jobs. Over the year, goods-producing industries lost 22,000 jobs while the service-providing sector declined by 13,700.
